841 respondents · 15 qualitative interviews

By the Numbers: 2023

841 respondents and 15 qualitative interviews shaped this year's findings — the most intersectional survey yet, digging into ethnicity, disability, and immigration status alongside gender.

66% say the most senior person at their org is a man — virtually unchanged from 67% in 2021, showing the glass ceiling hasn't shifted.

Only 24% of women feel confident asking for a pay rise, compared to 35% of men — and confidence has actually dropped for everyone since 2021.

38% witnessed gender discrimination at work, down from 45% in 2021 — a step in the right direction, though women are still nearly 3x more likely than men to report it.

Flexible working remains the #1 priority for employees — 30% say it's the benefit that would improve their work life most, with women valuing it 8 points more than men.

57% of women believe their company has a sexual harassment policy in place, compared to 66% of men — a perception gap worth closing.

66.1% are now aware of the proposed Sexual Harassment Bill — a sign of growing public engagement with workplace protections.
